When speaking with the Bride and Groom about their wedding day at The Heart of the Country Event Barn in Logan they perfectly recount the day. Cayla describes that
it went quickly and surprisingly smooth. It was a very early morning for me (bride). I remember waiting around with all my closest girlfriends, mom, sisters, and just waiting it out. trying to stay out of sight…not feeling very helpful. The next thing I know the ceremony starts ..I meet my dad at the start of the aisle and instead of taking my arm, he squeezes my hand (and there goes me holding it together) after that everything went so quickly. The whole day was beautiful and full of emotion and I remember every moment of it, but it flew by. I’m so glad I have so many amazing pictures to look back on.
The groom wakes up
slight chill in the breeze as I walked a little under a mile to a sunrise, knowing I would forever be united with Cayla later that day. It was just a sense of peace. As walked I picked a few wildflowers, found a spare vase from our decorations, and put a small love note on them to deliver to her from one of her sister/bridesmaids. I knew she would be in full “GO” mode, and I wanted her to know that quite literally “for better or worse” that today was going to be special, and she should remember to enjoy every part, just like I was already doing.
The day as seen by the groom
The groom states, “Like normal, I am a do last minute type of person. I love to have a good plan in place, but mostly know I am surrounded by those that can help. I know the girls were a little more stressed with makeup and hair, but the guys side was very… Re-active rather than proactive. I had to run to Walmart an hour before the ceremony for an undershirt! Luckily, I was surrounded by a bunch of laid back guys, and when I returned, they STILL were NOT ready. All came together in time without a hitch though! The rest of the day, seemed like a week crammed into one night. SOOOO much happened in such a short time, I remember so many little details, its hard to believe it all happened in one night!”
The Bride’s favorite moment
“There were so many moments that day that still bring me so much joy. But, I remember a moment after the ceremony, when they were announcing the wedding party. My husband and I were just hiding outside the reception hall waiting to be introduced at the reception to make our big entrance. It was this sigh of relief sort of moment where we (I) had just maxed out my emotions for the day and we were just so happy and so excited that we had finally gotten married. That we had finally made it to this point. It was amazing and we have so many great candid photos that really reflect that calm happy feeling that I had for the rest of the reception.”
What’s your favorite photograph from the day:
The photograph that I can’t stop looking at is a shot of us having our first dance. You can see half of my face and mostly the back of my husbands head and the crowd of happy people out of focus in the background. It’s a great picture and totally candid.I had no idea it was being taken but I can remember exactly how I was feeling when I see myself in that picture. I was looking at my husband, so happy, so in love, and so in awe of how wonderful my wedding day was going. –Cayla
My favorite is actually a series, watching my best man walking with my Mother-in-law into the ceremony, versus walking into the reception. The was clear look of relief when the ceremony was over, and the party could begin. I also loved ALL the candid shots of EVERYTHING at our wedding, it was a day where everything felt like it belonged, and was captured perfectly. Another of my favorites is the picture of Cayla’s bridesmaid approving my edits to the wedding vows, it really captured the essence of the morning.- CJ
